Look-a-Like Monday

I know I'm getting a little carried away with this . . . but don't you think the freaky-deakyness of Madge's frame and the Body Worlds of Dr. Gunther von Hagens deserve an honorable mention? Just sayin'!

Look-a-Like Friday

Is it just me or do Rosa Delauro (Democrat, Connecticut) and Ron Wood (Rolling Stones) look alike?

Teaching from the Heart

As a pastor, I am constantly speaking to a live audience. And if that is not enough, I drone incessantly to an online audience as well. You'll find my mug and muddle on vlogs, blogs, tweets and other "social media" forums. I can't help myself! I'm a "teller". I tell people stuff.

Lately, however, I've been much more extemporaneous, especially in my live audience formats. I've been teaching from the heart. Jesus said, "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks" (Matthew 12:34). I have some heart-stuff ... in abundance. That heart-stuff is the subjects and topics that fascinate me, things I've studied and stewed on for years. It's the stuff that resulted from probing, provocative questions propelling me into seasons of deep research and contemplation. It's the stuff about which I'm irreversibly, unabashedly passionate!

And I must say, I've been having a Hee-Haw time! It's not that I was never extemporaneous in my delivery. It's not that I forced myself to speak only on things about which I was dispassionate. It's just that I've had an epiphany. Like ... it's time to say THESE things. Like ... I've been released to go HERE ... NOW. And I'm lovin' it!

I don't know if this makes sense to you but it does to me. I'm following my heart and having a blast!

Peace and love my beloveds!

RenoVation

LifePoint is in the middle of a renovation . . . or as we like to put it . . . a RenoVation! We finally got our permits and the work has begun in earnest! The downside is setting up and tearing down for gatherings since the RenoVation is in our BIG room! But we're rollin' with it . . . it's not like we've never set up and torn down before!

God's challenging us renovations of the heart too! What good is a building, noise, coffee and a collection of people if God is not moving among us? Especially if we call ourselves a "church"!
It's all a bit of a headache really but when it's all said and done, we'll be glad for it! It's gonna be a super-cool-warehouse-santuary thing where God is glorified!

Peace and love and power to the people!

Is it just me or do Cornell West and David Crowder look like each other?

R. I. P. Louis Bellson

As a kid, this guy blew me away! I wish we would've had Youtube back in the day! His influence is threaded throughout the great ones: The Appice brothers, Billy Cobham, Dave Weckle and on and on.

Louis was a solo extraordinaire. While not as flamboyant as Buddy Rich, who always seemed angry at his kit, Louis put on a "happy show". He just seemed to have so much fun while tearing up the skins! Buddy was a haunted house while Louis was Disneyland.

His friends say he was the same way in life. It's always sad when an icon passes - today is such a day.

Rest in peace, Louis Bellson, and thanks for the memories!
